Classical Bluebirds Cushion
What you need:
2 Classical designs. (spring and bluebird04).
Pink coloured fine silk fabric 15.5 x 17.0
Pink coloured fine silk fabric 15.5 x 17.0 inches (40 x 43 cms) for rear. inches (40 x 43 cms) for front
White coloured fine silk fabric 7.75 x 9.5 inches (19.5 x 24.0 cms) for decorative front panel.
Chalk or marking pen
Take care with the selection of the fabric to use. I used fine silk fabrics. It is best to use a natural fabric.
Locate and mark the centre of the white silk panel.
Stitch the “spring” design on the white silk panel. Panel No.1
Applique the white silk panel onto the pink silk face of the cushion. Use the decorative stitches from your machine to create an attractive border. Panel No. 2
Applique the white silk panel onto the pink silk face of the cushion. Use the decorative stitches from your machine to create an attractive border. Panel No. 2
Using the four marked centre points, stitch the “bluebirds04” design on each of the four sides of the pink silk border on the face of the cushion. Panel No. 3
Decorate the face of the cushion around and between the four “bluebirds04” designs using the decorative stitches from your sewing machine. Panel No. 4
Using a blue marker pen, draw a wavy line on the pink silk border around and between the four “bluebirds04” designs.This should be used as a guide to follow when stitching out You can see the blue marker pen showing me drawing a wavy line so you can follow the line to stitch out the leaves. the decorative stitches.
Commence by using the leaves decoration and then use the flowers decoration selected from the decorative stitches from your machine.
Classical Wall Hanging
What you will need:
8 Classical designs
Pale blue coloured fine silk fabric 1.1 yards (1.0 metre)
Bell pull.
Chalk or soft pencil

Take care with the selection of the fabric to use. I used a fine silk fabric. It is best to use a natural fabric.
Prepare sixteen design templates, using each the eight Classical designs. This is done by printing   them and carefully cutting around their print-outs.
Mark the centre points of the sixteen design templates.
Carefully measure, mark then draw a straight line down the centre of the pale blue silk panel.
Lay and then carefully position all the design templates on the silk panel using the marked centre    points as your guide.
Mark the centre of each of the sixteen design templates on the silk panel using the marked centre   points on the design templates.Â
When you are satisfied with the positioning of all the designs on the silk panel, stitch the “sensational_02” design in the first position at the top.
Directly below the “sensational_02” design, stitch the “vase” design.
Moving down the centre line of the silk panel, continue stitching the following designs in the positions which you have marked:
- “showy”, “graceful”, “vase”, “sensational_05” using the wing needle for the centre, “vase” then the   “sensational_06” designs.
The next task is to prepare for the decoration of the face of the silk panel, around the vertical line of designs using the decorative stitches from your sewing machine.
Using a blue marker pen, draw a decorative, sculptured line on the face of the wall hanging, around the vertical line of designs.
At different points on either side of all the designs, stitch the “flow” and “flow_mirr” designs, just to break up the satin stitch which will be sewn along the undulating marked line.
Commence sewing a satin stitch along the undulating, decorative line using a white coloured thread.
Next, over the top of the satin stitch, sew another decorative stitch from your sewing machine using a silver coloured thread.
I used a length of narrow silver coloured piping which nicely complimented the designs, artwork and colours used to decorate this project.
Finally, I attached a small, brass curtain ring at the back of the wall hanging, so that it could be easily hung.

Classical Adorn Cushion
Always remember that the positioning of the designs is most important, as the final effects and the quality of the finished scene which you are creating relies on your design placement.
The layout of the Classical Series of designs for my cushion is shown below. It is the form of a diagram which indicates which design is used and the position in which I placed it.
Each of the printouts of the designs should be arranged on a large piece of paper, as shown below.
You, of course may prefer to arrange them in a different order. I suggest that you overlap some of the designs. This technique provides some spatial orientation and thus, the sense and dimension of depth to the scene which you are creating.I do hope that this project will inspire you to use these machine embroidery designs in a creative and artistic manner, particularly in your own decorative projects.
