Cotton Fields Machine Embroidery Design Instructions
Cotton Fields Bag
What you need:
Half a meter or half a yard of cotton fabric
Half a meter or half a yard of lining fabric
2 Tassels
Half a meter or half a yard of muslin to hoop for stitching out the design
Venetian blind cording, depending on how long you would like the strap you would need to triple the length, this would be enough for plating the handle ï‚· Half a meter or half a yard of thin wadding
Stitch out the following design Cotton Fields_02 using a stitch and tear backing and I also recommend you use another cotton fabric in the hoop, this will help the purse to give it more stability
Mark the centre and the width and length of the bag, I leave the measurements up to you as you can make the bag larger if you do not wish to have a small bag as this bag will be used to carry my mobile phone, I also like to leave more fabric at the top and bottom of the design for folding over
Cut out where you measured on your fabric and also cut out your lining
As you can see in the photo I used two layers of thin wadding as I will be using this purse for my mobile phone
Stitch the design to the wadding
Fold the design in half and stitch each of the sides together
Fold over the top section and straight stitch down
Plait the venetian cording to the length you wish Stitch the cording to both ends of the bag
Stitch the sides for the lining together Fold over the top section of the lining and iron a crease Hand stitch the ironed creased lining to the top of the bag Attach to the sides of the little white bag your tassels
Cotton Fields Clutch Bag
Stitch the design Cotton Fields_02 out twice, leaving enough room to stitch the design Cotton Fields_01 in the centre Stitch bias cording around the square fabric with the designs on it
Before I stitched the lining to the square I inserted one of those magnetic clips to the lining Stitch the lining to the square
The photo showing you the hand stitched sides of the bag. I used a blanket stitch to stitch the side of the bag Fold the square in half and stitch the sides together, I hand stitched the sides but I will leave that decision up to you
